The qualities of a bishop are discussed also in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, and in many respects the discussions in 1 TimothyThe companion on Paul's later journeys for whom two pastoral epistles are named. and Titus overlap. But there are also some slight differences. In the passage from 1 Timothy the qualities have to do primarily with administrative matters, but in this passage from Titus there is more emphasis on interpersonal skills and teaching. The bishop should teach sound doctrine and refute false teachers.
