Simeon’s story is told in Luke 2:22-35. Apparently an old and devout man, Simeon appears in the Jerusalem temple faithfully "looking forward to the consolation of Israel." When Mary and Joseph bring the infant Jesus to the temple, Simeon takes the child into his arms and gives thanks to God.
