SUMMARY
Jerusalem retains its importance for Jews, and all the rest of the nations will stream toward it as well.
ANALYSIS
Just as in the previous verses where God reverses the meaning of the fast periods to be times of celebration, God will reverse the fortunes of Jerusalem, from a conquered, destroyed city to be a place of pilgrimage for all nations. Instead of being the victim of mighty nations, Jerusalem will be the target of peaceful journeys. Instead of being oppressed, Jews will be sought out as master-instructors to help the nations understand how to serve the God who is with them.
