Paul

The Apostle Paul, originally known as Saul of Tarsus, was the author of several New Testament letters and the founder of many Christian communities.

Paul is the author of many of the New Testament letters, and arguably the second most influential figure in Christianity after Jesus. Paul, who was originally known as Saul of Tarsus before he had a mystical encounter with Jesus as recounted in Acts 9, often introduced himself as “an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God.” He founded and supported many new Christian communities through his missionary work and letters.
