Nysse has twice been book editor of World & World (1980-84 and 1984-91), the seminary's quarterly theological journal. Since 1989 he has also taught Old Testament in the TEEM program of Pacific Lutheran Seminary in Berkeley, California, a program which Luther Seminary joined in 2007 through the Western Mission Cluster.
