Biography
Lisa M. Wolfe is Professor of Hebrew Bible, Endowed Chair, at Oklahoma City University (OCU); she also teaches for Saint Paul School of Theology, OCU campus.
She received her M.Div. from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, in 1996, was ordained in the United Church of Christ in 2000, and received her Ph.D. from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and Northwestern University in 2003. At that time, she returned to UTS to teach until moving to OCU in 2007.
Lisa’s Bible study DVDs “Uppity Women of the Bible” were published in 2010 by Living the Questions, followed in 2011 by the companion commentary Ruth, Esther, Song of Songs and Judith (Wipf and Stock).
In 2018 she received the Distinguished Faculty Award from the OCU Honors Program, as well as the OCU Outstanding Faculty Award. Lisa’s newest publication is the volume on Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) for the Wisdom Commentary Series by Liturgical Press.
