Biography
The son of culturally Buddhist immigrants from Taiwan, the Rev. Gerald C. Liu, PhD is an ordained United Methodist Elder of the Mississippi Annual Conference and a confirmed Episcopalian in the diocese of New York currently serving as Honorary Ecumenical Minister at St. John’s in the Village. He welcomes any opportunity to help individuals, communities, and institutions spread the love of God and neighbor as widely as possible. Please reach out. He has served as a leading denominational officer at global and state levels, and his teaching ranges from independent school education at the all-girls Roman Catholic The School of the Holy Child to a recent sabbatical replacement as sessional faculty in worship at Eden Theological Seminary. He has authored Music and the Generosity of God (Palgrave, 2017) and co-authored with Khalia Williams of Candler School of Theology, A Worship Workbook: A Practical Guide for Extraordinary Liturgy (Abingdon, 2021).
