F. Scott Spencer (Ph.D. University of Durham, England) is Professor of New Testament and Preaching at the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. His longstanding interest in Acts is evidenced in several articles and books, including Journeying Through Acts: A Literary-Cultural Reading (Hendrickson, 2004); fifteen studies of character in Acts in The Pastor’s Bible Study, vol. 5 (Abingdon, 2008); and The Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles (Interpreting Biblical Texts; Abingdon, 2008).
